Tomorrow, Wednesday at 10:00 a.m., the University of La Laguna will initiate the pre-registration phase for enrolling in one of its twelve Doctorate programs for the academic year 2024/25. This period will run until 14 June.
To gain access to this specialised training, required prior to the development of a doctoral thesis, holding an official university degree and a university master’s degree or its equivalent is a prerequisite, provided that a minimum of 300 ECTS credits have been obtained across both of these qualifications. Doctorate programs are categorised by fields of knowledge. Under Art and Humanities, the options include doctorates in Philosophy; Atlantic Islands: History, Heritage and Legal Framework; Logic and Philosophy of Science; and Art and Humanities.
In the Science field, doctorate choices consist of Astrophysics; Biodiversity and Conservation; Mathematics and Statistics; Nanoscience and Nanotechnology; and Chemistry and Chemical Engineering. Within Health Sciences, the offerings are Medical and Pharmaceutical Sciences, Development and Quality of Life; Psychology and Health Sciences.
Within Social and Legal Sciences, the programs are categorised into Law; Law, Society and Tourism; Regional Development; Education; Interdisciplinary Gender Studies; Territory and Society; and Historical evolution in a tricontinental space; as well as Tourism.
Lastly, in the Engineering and Architecture domain, the University of La Laguna offers programs for the upcoming academic year in Industrial, Computer and Environmental Engineering, along with a doctorate in Nautical, Marine, and Naval Radioelectronics Engineering.
Subsequent to the conclusion of the application phase, by 28 June, individual consultations will be conducted for place allocations, or alternatively, for the continuation of the process, as there are no exclusions or waiting lists in this initial phase. From 1 July to 5 August, any remaining places from the initial phase will be made available, and after the holiday closure period, the University of La Laguna will publish the first provisional list on 10 September.
From the 10th to the 12th of September, a window will be open for submitting claims regarding the initial list of places and waiting lists, with the final list of successful applicants set to be released on the 18th. Subsequently, the registration period for the granted places in the first list of preferred programs will be extended from 19 to 26 September.
The following day, the second allocation list and waiting lists will be published, with registrations being accepted from 27 September to 4 October. For returning students of Doctoral programs at the University of La Laguna, a registration window is scheduled between 26 September and 15 October.
