The judicial authority presiding over the Court on duty of the judicial district of San Cristóbal de La Laguna (Instruction 1) has decided on Saturday afternoon to grant provisional release to the former UD Coromoto coach who was denounced to the police for allegedly committing two acts of corruption of minors.
The accusations state that these offences were reportedly committed against several other underage players of the club.
As part of precautionary measures, he is forbidden from approaching within a 500-meter radius of the two alleged victims, the club’s premises, or places where the club conducts its activities.
Minors are also prohibited from engaging in federated training or sports activities until a verdict is reached in the initial proceedings or the current case is closed, if deemed appropriate. It is further warned that non-compliance will result in the offence of breaching a precautionary measure, even punishable by imprisonment.
On Thursday, the sports organisation released a statement on social media explaining that due to the aforementioned complaint, they had decided to definitively terminate the contract of this coach, who had already been completely separated from the club since last Monday, May 6.
The club also asserted its cooperation with the State Security Forces and Corps “to shed light on these events,” which, it stresses, the club members were “completely unaware of” until the previous Monday.
