Arona is looking to attract clients for the summer at Expovacaciones 2024, a specialised fair in experiential and gastronomic tourism, starting today and ending on Sunday at the Bilbao Exhibition Centre in Barakaldo. The Tourism Board, managed by Councilor Dácil León, highlights that the main features of the destinations and activities to be promoted at this event are reflected in the central mottos of the fair, Don’t imagine, live and Experience and Taste, as stated by the local government.
Arona’s presence at this event aligns with the Tourism Board’s strategy to increase visibility for the destination and its three tourist brands (Playa de Las Américas, Playa de Los Cristianos, and Costa del Silencio) at major national and international holiday fairs and events, focusing on those that resonate with the brand’s strengths.
Dácil León emphasises that visibility in places where large numbers of people decide on their holidays and where most industry professionals select the tourism products they will offer to their clients “is crucial in positioning Arona as a top holiday choice. It will help us remain a premier destination even during the summer season, which is usually our off-peak season due to increased competition from other destinations in the sun and beach segment.”
The importance that northern peninsular tourism places on complementary offerings “makes it particularly interesting, as it values everything that contributes to pleasant holidays full of unique experiences, leading to increased spending at the destination and, consequently, strengthening the local economy and generating employment.”
Sun, beaches, natural pools, gastronomy and viticulture, events and shows, maritime and land excursions, day and night leisure, as well as culture and heritage, with the added value of being suitable for all ages, are some of the hallmarks of the Arona Brand that will be highlighted at this fair. This will cater to the preferences of tourists who appreciate blue tourism and island landscapes. The gastronomic offering will be presented with the added allure of the Michelin-starred Taste 1973 restaurant (located in Las Américas) and the Lajar de Bello restaurant’s Sol Repsol (in La Camella).
The Tourism Board will focus on the commitment to sustainability and tourism quality seals, personalised attention at tourist offices, the quality of accommodation offerings, the maritime connection to La Gomera, El Hierro and La Palma, easy access to Teide and proximity to Tenerife Sur airport.
