An investigation has been initiated by the National Police following a report filed by a father of a player from the Unión Deportiva Coromoto, a soccer club based in La Laguna, against one of the coaches for allegedly engaging in corrupt practices involving minors.
The sports club released a statement on social media announcing the immediate termination of the coach in question due to the complaint. The coach has been completely separated from the club since Monday, May 6.
The club has also stated that it is fully cooperating with the authorities to investigate the matter, claiming to have had no prior knowledge of the allegations until this recent development.
Additionally, the club has shown strong disapproval of any behaviour of this nature.
Police sources, as reported by EFE, have confirmed the initiation of secret proceedings related to the case and have refrained from disclosing further details at this time.
