As the warm weather approaches, the desire to bask on the beach grows stronger. Those living near the coast in Tenerife have been taking advantage of this opportunity, leading to a significant surge in property purchases in recent years.

According to the latest report by the real estate portal Idealista on home prices in April 2024, the average price per square meter in Tenerife is €2,680/m2, marking an increase of +18.7% compared to April 2023. Nevertheless, there are properties near the beach that are priced even lower.

Los Realejos, Güímar, and Arafo stand out among the municipalities offering apartments for sale below the average price, as reported in the latest available price data. However, one coastal town stands even lower at €1,329/m2.

AVERAGE PROPERTY PRICES PER SQUARE METER IN BEACH AREAS OF TENERIFE

  • Adeje: €3,919/m2
  • Arona: €3,182/m2
  • Santiago del Teide: €3,178/m2
  • Candelaria: €2,050/m2
  • Güímar: €1,584/m2
  • Granadilla de Abona: €1,518/m2
  • El Rosario: €1,959/m2
  • Puerto de la Cruz: €2,649/m2
  • The Silos: €1,329/m2
  • La Orotava: €1,591/m2

EXPLORE LOS SILOS COAST

Located in Tenerife, Los Silos boasts an average property price of €1,329/m2, making it the most budget-friendly coastal area municipality for home purchases on the island.

The approximately 5-kilometer-long coast of Los Silos enjoys an average annual temperature of around 20º C, offering mild winters and pleasantly warm summers. This rocky coastline is dotted with numerous points and rocky formations, interspersed with beaches and pools. Its accessibility, combined with the picturesque landscape and tranquility of a seaside stroll, has captivated both locals from nearby towns and tourists seeking relaxation.

Starting from the western sector, between the La Caleta neighbourhood and the Sibora tourist complex, visitors can discover several charming spots like Charco de Juaniquín, Charco del Cumplido, Charco del Romancito, Charco de Las Damas, and Charco del Inglés. The coastal area of La Caleta de Interián features traditional salt mines where salt is produced using natural rock cavities in a painstaking process carried out during summer months.

Heading along the coastal road leads to Agua Dulce Beach, possibly named after a freshwater source near the beach. With rocky exteriors but sandy bottoms, it offers ideal swimming conditions, especially during the summer months. Additionally, the September high tides reveal the full beauty of the sandy shore.

Within the vicinity lie the Daute sugar mill, the Telegraph House, and the remnants of the old Daute dock. Proceeding along the coastal road brings you to the natural area of El Puertito, housing municipal swimming pools and El Puertito de Pescadores, where local fishermen showcase their catch and divers explore the seabed. Los Silos now boasts two diving centres where equipment can be rented and professional guides hired.

To the west of El Puertito, down a dirt road, await Charco de Los Chochos, Charco de la Araña, and Charco Don Gabino, all suitable for swimming. These coastal havens have undergone renovations, making them popular recreational destinations among the locals.
