The CEO of Tourism in Tenerife, Dimple Melwani, announced on Tuesday that the animation industry accounts for 23% of total productions on the island and in 2023, it generated 700 jobs and an economic contribution of around €20 million.
In a statement, Melwani celebrated that the revenue and productions of this industry in Tenerife have quadrupled since 2015, as well as the current presence of up to seven animation companies on the Canary Island.
The statements by the CEO of Tourism of Tenerife were made on Tuesday at a press conference in conjunction with the 2024 Quirino Awards, a platform for the promotion of Ibero-American animation held in Tenerife.

The event will have its special day this Saturday at the Teatro Leal de La Laguna, where its traditional awards ceremony will be held with 25 titles from seven countries competing in ten categories.
