The Tenerife Island Council allocates 24,800 euros to a grant scheme aimed at promoting and enhancing the commercialization of locally produced agri-food products for the domestic market originating from Tenerife. The Primary Sector councilor, Valentín González, states that “these grants are an example of the commitment to improving the competitiveness of local products, as well as increasing the added value of locally produced agri-food products for the domestic market through enhancing quality, diversification, and presentation.”

The aim of this grant scheme is to increase the incomes of the agricultural population in Tenerife by also “making the domestic market more transparent and optimizing the prices of agri-food products, enabling farmers to access a wider range of commercial channels.”

The beneficiaries of these grants may be the agricultural associatives managing Agricultural Markets in operation at the time of applying for the grant. The maximum amount to be received by each beneficiary entity cannot exceed €6,000.
