The May Festival’s Regional Exhibition of Flowers, Plants, and Crafts in the capital city has crowned its winners. Yesterday, Mayor José Manuel Bermúdez, alongside Festival Councilor Javier Caraballero, presented awards across various categories. The event included recognitions for the Children’s Painting and Drawing competition, coinciding with the closure of the exhibition which attracted thousands of visitors to García Sanabria park.
Among the Ornamental Plant awards, Iria Cabrera Luis clinched the first prize, Peter Paul Bosman secured the second, and Aluminios Alcoral claimed the third spot. In the Gardening segment, IES El Sobradillo took home the first prize, Aluminios Alcoral the second, and Iria Cabrera Luis the third.
Flower Arrangements
Merci Bouquet won the top spot in the Floral Arrangement category, followed by Natalia Molina Concepción in second place and Geranios Tenerife in third place. The Stand Presentation category saw Geranios Tenerife taking the first prize, Natalia Molina the second, and Merci Bouquet the third. In the Traditional Canarian Crafts division, Abdala Eugenio David claimed the first prize for the creation ‘Naturalmente simple’. Nayra Pérez Reyes received the second award for ‘Conajo de Icod’, while Carmen Fumero García was awarded the third position for her creation ‘Chal de Rosetas’. Within the Contemporary Crafts category, María José Zárate won the first prize for ‘Florezando’. José Luis Santos Trujillo secured second place with ‘Raíces del Teide’, and Gloria Isora Díaz Rodríguez obtained the third spot with ‘Tapiz de Feltro’.
Regarding the drawing contest, Julia Rodríguez Morales won the first prize in the 3 to 6 age group, and Óliver Estévez Cruz in the 7 to 12 category. Carolly Reyes Albero came in second, and Katia Rodríguez García achieved the third position. In the painting contest, Abril Núñez emerged victorious in the 3 to 6 age group, with Jana Rodríguez securing second place. Carolly Reyes claimed the first prize in the 7 to 12 age group, followed by Katia Rodríguez in second, and Riel Núñez in third.
