SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, 3rd May. (EUROPA PRESS) –
The Canarian Police’s General Corps, through the Operational Response Group, apprehended an individual on the 1st of May amid the Tanque pilgrimage festivities for an alleged incident of sexual misconduct towards a woman.
While carrying out public order duties for the occasion, law enforcement officers witnessed a scuffle between two men which they promptly intervened in. Subsequently, during the identification process of those involved, a 44-year-old lady approached them and disclosed that she had been a victim of sexual misconduct, which was the root cause of the altercation between the two men. This information was disclosed in a press release by the Canary Islands Police.
Following the identification of several eyewitnesses, the police proceeded to detain the individual on charges of sexual misconduct and handed him over to the Civil Guard for presentation before the judicial authorities.
