SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, 2nd May (EUROPA PRESS) –
The body discovered floating in the waters near Arico’s coastline last Saturday has been confirmed to be that of a 66-year-old Belgian national who had been reported missing since at least 24th April, as reported by newspaper ‘El Día’ and confirmed by sources within the Civil Guard.
The law enforcement agency is conducting an ongoing investigation, classified under summary secrecy, led by the Crimes against Persons Team of the Organic Unit of the Judicial Police (UOPJ) in Santa Cruz de Tenerife and the Territorial Team of the Judicial Police in South Tenerife.
Following the initial autopsy report, it has been established that the woman met a violent end.
The body was discovered in the vicinity of La Jaca and La Listada, with a yellow bag covering the head and with both legs and one hand missing, in an advanced state of decomposition.
Additionally, the non-governmental organization SOS Desaparecidos raised concerns about the disappearance of a 71-year-old male in Adeje on the same day as the deceased woman.
