Approximately 1,500 companies and around 13,000 professionals involved in industrial sectors in the province of Tenerife can now benefit from the free service of assistance and technical advice in Occupational Risk Prevention (ORP) provided by Preve-Femete, subsidized by the Ministry of Tourism and Employment of the Government of the Canary Islands. Specifically, technical personnel will study and resolve any issues or doubts that arise regarding the practical and material application of the ORP regulations, although the provision of this service does not exempt the company from its obligation to have a preventive organizational model.
“The main objective of this project is to provide professional assistance through advice and technical support (both in person and by phone or online) for the correct implementation of measures in the field of ORP, especially aimed at companies and professionals in the metal and new technologies sectors. This helps improve the preventive culture in Canarian companies, effectively reducing workplace accidents and the occurrence of occupational diseases,” argues Femete’s Project Director, Désirée Brito Rodríguez.

“Preve-Femete confirms our federation’s commitment to safety and health in the workplace. We highlight the growing number of consultations related to applied psychosociology or mental health in the workplace, as well as consultations related to industrial hygiene or the study of exposure to contaminants in the work environment. In addition, this free service meets the continuous demand from companies and professionals for prompt, close and clear advice. In previous editions, the companies that have most requested this service belong to the vehicle repair and construction-related auxiliary industry sectors. At Femete, we consider it very important that the Administration continues to support initiatives like this,” emphasizes the Project Director.
