The President of the Council of Tenerife, Rosa Dávila, emphasised on Monday that the definitive closure of access to Guamasa on the North Highway will not take place until the complementary works on the TF-152 and TF-253 roads, running parallel to the TF-5, are completed.
Dávila stated that there is no set deadline for the awarding of these works by the government group, dismissing any “delays” suggested by the Socialist Group in the Council. She mentioned that these actions not only require the drafting of specifications but also 8 months after they commence.
The island’s president explained that the decision to carry out parallel actions to the TF-5 is based on the conclusions report issued by the General Directorate of Traffic after testing the closure of the link to the highway at Guamasa. This follows additional measures to ensure its effectiveness.
Rosa Dávila defended her government group by highlighting the diligence of her tenure compared to Pedro Martín’s, stating that nationalists and popular party members “not only conducted tests but also implemented concrete measures.”
