SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, 29th April. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Tenerife Cabildo’s president, Rosa Dávila, stated on Monday that the non-availability of specifications for the additional works on the roads connected to the TF-5 — TF-235 and TF-152 — necessary for closing the Guamasa link, is not considered a “delay”.

During a press briefing to update on the Government Council’s resolutions, she mentioned that there is no specific “deadline” for this project. A few weeks back, she had announced that the works would be completed in approximately six to eight months, with an estimated cost of around one million Euros.

Emphasizing the Cabildo’s commitment to “enhancing mobility”, the president highlighted that after four years of PSOE and CS governance where “no actions were taken,” steps are now being taken towards various advancements.

Among these initiatives, she defended the planned closure of the Guamasa link, the implementation of BUS-HOV lanes, the introduction of shuttle buses to university campuses, the development of a car-sharing application, and the forthcoming construction of a third lane on the TF-5, heading downwards from Guamasa to Los Rodeos, at a cost of 55 million Euros.

Dávila made it clear that traffic on the link will not be disrupted until the additional works are completed. She highlighted that creating the necessary specifications is a “top priority” for the Cabildo’s Highways department, although she mentioned that there are other projects awaiting processing in various parts of the island.
