The Arona City Council will be welcoming 31 new officers of the Local Police following the increase in available positions in the call carried out by the Presidency Department, Public Administration, Justice and Security of the Government of the Canary Islands for entry, through the general access system, of positions belonging to the Basic Scale, Police, Group C and Subgroup C1.
Arona’s demands have been met for the second annual unified call of 2023. Initially, the municipality was entitled to 12 new positions due to vacancies, but this figure has been increased by 19 more – amounting to a total of 31 – so that nearly one-third of the officers who pass the selection process will have Arona as their destination, as the total number of positions open to the 88 Canarian municipalities amounts to 107.
Arona’s Mayor, Fátima Lemes, emphasized that ” this is the largest recruitment call for officers ever held in Arona’s history and it demonstrates the clear and decisive commitment of this Government Group to increase the security of our residents and visitors.”
