The tram network in Holy Cross of Tenerife and San Cristobal de La Laguna is a source of great pride for the locals. A multitude of commuters rely on it daily for their journey between the two main towns on the island of Tenerife. However, occasionally, human behaviour takes a dark turn and altercations erupt, even on the peaceful Tenerife tram.
Recently, a witness captured a heated exchange between a group of young individuals and a man aboard the tram. While the situation did not escalate to physical violence, the tension in the air was palpable, leaving other passengers anxious and on edge.
“Do you know who I am?“, a man challenges the youths. He adopts a threatening pose, lashing out at one of the handrails passengers use for support when standing.
“What’s your problem? You’re acting foolish, idiotic; I could knock you out,” he continues to berate another young person, persisting with insults until the tram reaches its destination and he exits, not before parting with a final insult: “Step outside and face reality,” marking the culmination of the incident that went viral after being shared on various social media platforms and messaging apps.
