The Tenerife Tram, which connects the metropolitan area between Santa Cruz de Tenerife and La Laguna, is one of the most comfortable and punctual modes of transport on the island of Tenerife. Thousands of travellers use it daily, and every day can be an adventure in itself. From people who entertain you during the journey by singing and playing the guitar between stops in exchange for tips, to heated arguments with a lot more decibels than the previously mentioned artist.

When you talk to passengers about an incident you witnessed, and you start providing details, it’s rare for them not to say “Oh, that’s nothing. The other day I was…” and proceed to tell you about another altercation. The truth is that altercations on this mode of transport are not very common, but when they do happen, there is always a passenger ready with their mobile phone to record the scene and upload it to social media, thus amplifying certain uncomfortable situations for the passengers.

This is what has happened in the last hours after a user recorded a confrontation between a man and several young people inside the tram. Although the situation didn’t escalate further, it was indeed a violent act that could have resulted in an aggression.

In the particular recording, a man can be seen confronting a group of young people. In a threatening manner, he says to them: “You have no idea who I am”, while punching one of the grab bars that passengers hold onto when standing. Closing in on the youngsters with hand gestures, he then asks again, “What do you want?”. “You are a stupid fool, moron; I’ll leave you sleeping,” continues the passenger to the young people, proceeding with “rascal, you are a rascal” until the tram reaches its stop and he exits, not before giving them another parting shot: “Step outside to see what guts you have,” which is the last thing seen in the video.

User @neereaadiaz has shared it on their social media, and within hours, thousands of people have already viewed it. Another user adds in a comment: “Next stop, the boxing ring, with an underground platform”. Another points out “you are more cliché than the you have no idea who I am“.
