Canarian Authorities Uncover Numerous Unauthorized Constructions on Protected Rural Land

The Environmental Protection and Cultural Heritage Group of the Canarian Police have taken action against an illegal construction in the municipality of Güímar, Tenerife, following the detection of unauthorized developments on protected rural land.

A police investigation into a suspected crime against territorial planning led to the sealing of the site, with one individual under investigation and the illegal construction now secured.

The Canarian Police’s Inspection Plan in the province of Santa Cruz de Tenerife revealed numerous unauthorized constructions on rustic land with special protection, due to their cultural or landscape significance.

These interventions aim to prevent abuse of land and natural resources, tackling serious violations that may result in prison sentences ranging from one to three years, along with the restoration of the land to its original state.
