The General Corps of the Canarian Police, operating through the Environmental Protection and Cultural Heritage Group under the jurisdiction of the Administrative Surveillance and Inspection Unit in the Tenerife region, has taken steps to notify and legally close an unauthorized structure in the municipality of Güímar.
This closure follows an investigation into a police report regarding an alleged violation of territorial planning laws, leading to one individual being under investigation and the aforementioned precautionary measure being taken.
Under the Inspection Plan for urban planning in the Santa Cruz de Tenerife province, the Corps has identified numerous unauthorized constructions, including the one in question, situated on land designated as rustic, undevelopable, or under special protection due to its landscape or cultural significance, among others.
These measures aim to prevent harm to the land and the unwarranted use of natural resources, penalizing actions that constitute severe violations or may result in imprisonment of one to three years, along with the restoration of the land to its original state.
