The Mayor of Granadilla de Abona, Jennifer Miranda, has sent correspondence this Monday to the Secretary of State for the Environment, Hugo Morán, along with the President of the Government of the Canary Islands, Fernando Clavijo, and the President of the Cabildo, Rosa Dávila, to collectively explore potential solutions for the La Tejita hotel project.
Several weeks ago, the mayor herself revealed the agreement between the developer and the previous Government of the Canary Islands to purchase the land earmarked for the hotel, for which funds were allocated.
The aim, as confirmed by the former Minister of Ecological Transition and Climate Change, José Antonio Valbuena, was to “re-naturalize” this coastal zone, which is highly sensitive in terms of biodiversity, with the economic assessment of the Ministry’s experts receiving approval from the landowners.
Jennifer Miranda stated, “We are at a pivotal moment to engage all public administrations in seeking a feasible solution that ensures the protection of this coastal region, thus translating words into deeds.”
Fernando Clavijo himself has summoned a meeting with the mayor, the president of the Cabildo, and the mayor of Adeje, José Miguel Rodríguez Fraga, to assess the feasibility of this project and that of the tourist development of ‘Cuna del Alma’.
