The Municipality of Buenavista del Norte has launched two Work-Study Programs Employment (PFAE) that have facilitated the hiring of 40 unemployed individuals from the municipality. Funded by the State Public Employment Service (SEPE) and the Canary Islands Employment Service (SCE), they have a subsidy of 680,823 Euros.
The Tagoror PFAE has 20 workers, including five members of the management and teaching team, and the remaining 15 are the students who will receive training over 11 months to obtain accreditation for the Level 3 Professional Certificate in Community Dynamization, partial accreditation of a module of the Level 2 Professional Certificate in dynamizing educational leisure activities for children and youth, as well as complementary training for employment.
They are tasked with analysing the reality of Buenavista del Norte, participating in various activities involving citizen participation work, engaging in street-level activities, providing assistance to the different municipal associations that require the service, carrying out dissemination activities and information campaigns, and providing training on participatory processes as well as promoting volunteer actions.
The Bolico PFAE has the same number of positions and duration, and consists of training to obtain accreditation for the Level 1 Professional Certificate in Auxiliary Activities in Agriculture and complementary training for employment. This programme will enable the maintenance of the Los Pedregales Municipal Farm in production, serving as a model for economic development and diversification.
