Plans are in place for the Tenerife Cabildo to demolish a derelict building near Pico del Inglés, situated within the picturesque Anaga Rural Park. This initiative aims to regenerate the land and seamlessly integrate it into the surrounding landscape.
Positioned at the termination point of the TF-114 highway, these structures form a property which adjoins the eastern side of the pedestrian promenade leading to the Pico del Inglés viewpoint. Covering an area of 348 square meters, these buildings are set to be removed in an effort outlined by the island corporation.
The demolition scheme requires an estimated investment of approximately 98,000 euros. Currently in the public domain, once finalized, the project will be open for bids and subsequently awarded for implementation.
The scope of work encompasses the dismantling of structural components. This will include the removal of all edifices and construction elements, such as walkways, buildings, and concrete structures. Additionally, existing pavements will be torn down, followed by the loading and transportation of resultant materials.
Upon completion of the demolition works, the terrain will be contoured to carefully restore its slopes to their original configuration as much as possible.
Furthermore, a layer of topsoil will be laid down, and vegetation will be planted to prevent soil erosion. Any necessary restoration of the TF-PR2 pathway will also be undertaken.
The Tenerife Cabildo stresses the significance of this “essential” endeavour within the Anaga Rural Park to “revitalise the scenery and ensure public safety.” The dilapidated infrastructure in question currently serves no purpose, lying deserted and neglected.
