Driver Experiences Cardiac Arrest While Behind the Wheel of a Driving School Vehicle in Tenerife



A 53-year-old gentleman has been urgently transported to the La Candelaria hospital in critical condition after experiencing a cardiac and respiratory arrest this Monday while operating a driving school vehicle on the TF-2, near the La Laguna commercial park.

A medical professional present in the 1-1-2 emergency room confirmed, based on information provided by the individual who placed the emergency call, that the driver was in a state of cardiorespiratory arrest and provided instructions via telecare for commencing resuscitation procedures.

Upon reaching the site of the incident, responders from the Canary Islands Emergency Service carried out both basic and advanced cardiopulmonary resuscitation procedures and successfully managed to restore his pulse.

Subsequently, after stabilisation, the individual was transported in critical condition by medical ambulance to the La Candelaria hospital.

The Civil Guard managed traffic on the road and collaborated closely with other emergency response units.
