SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, 21st April. (EUROPA PRESS) –
A dramatic rescue unfolded this Sunday morning as Maritime Rescue came to the aid of a canoe carrying approximately 50 individuals, stranded five miles off the coast of Los Abrigos in Tenerife.
The alert was raised by the fishing vessel ‘Rosa del Viento’ at 7:50 a.m. upon spotting the irregular vessel near the island’s shore, with its occupants appearing to be in good health.
Responding swiftly, the Maritime Rescue centre in Tenerife deployed the Alpheratz sea rescue team, which successfully located the canoe an hour later and guided it safely to the port of Los Cristianos.
