Yesterday, the Candelaria Local Government and the Association of Industrial Park of the Güímar Valley (POLGÜÍMAR) Owners and Entrepreneurs signed a cooperation agreement. This pact aims to boost skills development and job creation within the municipality. The agreement, inked by Mayor Mari Brito and POLGÜÍMAR’s president Ramón Brinquis, establishes a platform for collaboration. Both parties will work together to identify the training needs of companies within the industrial estate, create customized training programmes, and seek funding for their implementation. The initial offer comprises 25 fresh job openings.
“This agreement exemplifies the council’s dedication to boosting employment and economic growth in the municipality,” highlighted the mayor. “Through collaboration with POLGÜÍMAR, we can equip companies in the industrial estate with the necessary tools to ensure their employees are skilled and can progress within their respective roles. Additionally, we will closely cooperate with companies to pinpoint new job opportunities and present them to job seekers in Villa Mariana.”
On the other hand, Ramón Brinquis expressed his profound gratitude, underscoring the significance of the public-private partnership for regional development, which is vital for job creation. Consequently, the structures enabled by this agreement will inject vitality into employment, a change that we anticipate will be noticeable as it allows us to align supply with demand through training.
Exceeding 25 Job Vacancies
Through the close collaboration between the Candelaria Local Government and POLGÜÍMAR, the local Employment Agency has received over 25 job vacancies from companies in the industrial estate. These opportunities have resulted in interviews and recruitment of municipal residents in various positions. “We are extremely pleased with the outcomes of this collaboration,” remarked Mayor Mari Brito.
