Candelaria’s City Council and the Association of Owners and Entrepreneurs of the Valle de Güímar Industrial Estate (Polgüímar) have signed a collaboration agreement to promote qualification and job creation in the municipality. The mayor, Mari Brito, and the president of the entrepreneurs, Ramón Brinquis, have signed the agreement to jointly identify the training needs of the companies in the Southeast industrial area, design tailor-made training programs and seek funding to implement the agreement.
Mari Brito explained that this collaboration will “provide the Industrial Estate’s companies with the tools they need for their workers to be qualified and able to develop and grow in their work environment.” One aspect she highlighted was that “we will work closely with the companies to identify new job positions and offer them to job seekers in the Villa Mariana.”
Ramón Brinquis, the president of Polgüímar, emphasized “the importance of the relationship between the public and private sectors for the region’s development, which is essential for job creation.” He pointed out the labour dynamism that this agreement will bring “because it will allow us to adapt the supply to the demand through training.”
As a result of the close collaboration between the City Council and Polgüímar, the Candelaria Employment and Local Development Agency has received more than 25 job offers from companies in the Industrial Estate, which resulted in hirings of municipality residents. “We are very pleased with the results of this collaboration,” stated the mayor of Candelaria.
