SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, 18th April. (EUROPA PRESS) –
The Canary Islands Government’s General Directorate of Emergencies has lifted the forest fire risk alert for the islands of El Hierro, La Palma, La Gomera, Tenerife, and Gran Canaria.
This decision was based on information from the State Meteorological Agency and other relevant sources, following the Specific Plan for Civil Protection and Emergency Response to Forest Fires of the Canary Islands Autonomous Community (INFOCA) as detailed by the Executive.
The episode of warm and dry air from continental Africa, accompanied by variable degrees of haze and unusually high temperatures for this period, has now concluded. A pre-alert remains in place for the western islands and Gran Canaria above 800 meters in the north and 400 meters in the south.
Additionally, the Government has also lifted the pre-alert for haze and maximum temperatures.
