Santa Cruz is gearing up for the demonstration this Saturday starting at 12:00 in Plaza Weyler. The anticipation of a large crowd filling the streets of the city centre is leading companies like TITSA to give advance notice of bus stop and route changes. Buses won’t be able to move easily through the city centre.
Titsa reports that from 11:00 onwards and until the conclusion of the protest, lines 902, 904, 905, 912 and 914 will be affected.
Bus stops at Weyler, Plaza Militar, Capitanía, Parque García Sanabria, Méndez Núñez, El Pilar, Plaza del Príncipe, Villalba Hervás, La Alameda, Plaza de Isabel II, La Marina, 25 de julio, Buenos Aires, Manuel Hermoso Rojas, José Emilio García Gómez, La Salle, and Colegio La Salle will be temporarily out of service.
Tram service to be cut off from La Paz
Tram line 1, which connects Santa Cruz with La Laguna, will also undergo modifications, although they are not official yet. According to reports from EL DÍA, the tram will stop at La Paz due to the inability to transit normally and safely through the Weyler area.
The transport company will implement a measure similar to what is done during events like carnival, where the line terminates at La Paz instead of the Interchange.
