Santa Cruz de Tenerife urgently initiates the tender process for the demolition of five properties to enlarge the La Rosa car park

An urgent decision was made by the Santa Cruz City Council to commence the tender process for the demolition of five dilapidated houses and old garages situated between the San Martín and Señor de las Tribulaciones streets. This is to facilitate the expansion of parking spaces in the La Rosa area.

The works are expected to start after the summer, between late August and early September. Upon completion, the current 35 parking spaces will be increased to 78, as confirmed by the City Council.

The La Rosa car park, which is currently free of charge, occupies a 1,400 square meter plot that was acquired by the City Council for three million euros in 2022. This acquisition was made due to the parking shortage resulting from the renovation works on the street of the same name.

As the ongoing renovation works have reduced the number of parking spaces, the municipal government has approved the immediate demolition of five ruined properties and the old garage in the vicinity.

Upon completion of the 405,000 euros investment, the temporary parking area will be closed for the construction of the new car park. The aim is for the new facility to be operational once the remodeling of La Rosa is finalised.
