Those promoting the protests on April 20 against the economic model of Canary Islands continue to call for civility and seriousness as the date approaches, with all the islands of the archipelago coming together. Even some of the most bustling cities in Europe, like Madrid, Barcelona, or Berlin.
Despite this, there are some uncivil individuals trying to disrupt this march. In Tenerife, a rental car from the company Cicar was found with graffiti on the side of the vehicle. The journalist Yendy Hernández shared this image on social media.
Two words, “Go Home”, were what could be seen on the right side of the car. Words that are usually accompanied by the word “tourist” at the beginning and that are another act of tourism phobia in our islands.
These graffiti have been appearing in specific areas of the archipelago and do not reflect the intentions of the majority of protesters for April 20.
