The force of the sea took over the southern coast of Tenerife. This part of the island endured the onslaught of the waves, causing various damages in the municipalities of Arafo, Arico, Güímar, and Candelaria.
The square of the Patron Saint of Canary Islands was surprised by the water, just like several buildings in the municipalities of Candelaria and Güímar, which were left in ruins due to the strong impact of the sea against their facades.
Another issue that has arisen is in the municipality of Arico. In the area of El Poris, specifically in Playa Grande, a large amount of rubbish ended up stranded on the black sand.

Plastic and microplastic remnants, flip-flops, jerrycans, and even tyres ended up on this beach along with seaweed due to the strong waves, with Arico being one of the most affected municipalities.
In a video captured and shared on Facebook by Promemar (Marine Environmental Projects), one can see how the beach has become filled with rubbish brought in by the sea. Throughout the beach, seaweed filled with plastics accumulates.
