Tragic Fatality as Pedestrian Struck on Southern Highway in Tenerife



An English national, aged 23, has tragically passed away as a result of sustaining severe injuries after being struck by a vehicle yesterday morning on the Southern Highway (TF-1), passing through the town of Adeje, in Tenerife, as reported by the Emergency and Security Coordinating Center (Cecoes) 1-1-2.

The incident took place around 4:00 a.m., when the 1-1-2 emergency call center received a report that a young man had been hit by a vehicle while attempting to cross the TF-1 highway. Subsequently, Cecoes promptly mobilised emergency response resources.

A medicalised ambulance and a basic life support ambulance from the Canary Islands Emergency Service (SUC), along with members of the Tenerife Fire Consortium, personnel from the Cabildo’s Road Maintenance Service, and officers from the Civil Guard, rushed to the scene.

Upon arrival, SUC responders determined that the victim’s injuries were fatal and confirmed the tragic outcome. The Civil Guard oversaw the necessary procedures, while the firefighters and Road Maintenance Service personnel assisted the responders.
