An individual aged 71 is currently in a critical state after a knife attack occurred on a public thoroughfare in La Matanza, Tenerife. The incident was reported this Wednesday by the Government’s Emergency and Security Coordinating Center (CECOES) 1-1-2 in the Canary Islands.
At approximately 12:22 p.m., emergency services were alerted by a call reporting a knife assault on Benavides Street.
The response team from 1-1-2 promptly activated emergency services, and medical personnel evaluated and provided assistance to the victim. Subsequently, the individual was stabilised and transported in critical condition by medical ambulance to the Canary Islands University Hospital.
The Civil Guard managed the necessary procedures, with assistance from the Local Police who collaborated with other emergency services involved.
