A 53-year-old Czech national passed away this Wednesday, on April 10, after falling into the sea at the natural pools area of Puerto de la Cruz.
The alert to the Coordinating Centre for Emergencies and Security (CECOES) 112 of the Canary Islands Government was raised at 16:15, reporting that an individual who was taking photos in the area had fallen into the sea.
Rescuers from the Emergency and Rescue Group (GES) helicopter rushed to the scene, where a paramedic ambulance from the Canary Islands Emergency Service (SUC) had already arrived and retrieved the affected person, who was in cardiac arrest. Cardiopulmonary resuscitation maneuvers began during the transfer to the helipad in La Guancha.
