Today, 9th April, in Canarias, strong winds will be the main feature. According to the forecast from the State Meteorological Agency (Aemet), very strong wind gusts are expected in exposed areas to the northeast, as well as in the summits, with likely gusts exceeding 90 kilometers in areas of Lanzarote, La Gomera, and Gran Canaria.

Cloudy skies during the early hours in the north of the mountainous islands, where some light and scattered precipitation is not ruled out, tending towards partially cloudy skies throughout the day. In other areas, mostly clear or sunny skies.

Temperatures with little change, with a slight decrease on the northern slopes and a slight increase on the southern slopes, except in summits and midlands of the south of Tenerife and Gran Canaria, where there will be moderate increases, especially in the maximum temperatures.

In the sea, there will be a northerly or northeasterly force 5 or 6, increasing to northeast 6 or 7. Strong swell increasing to strong swell or rough. On the south or southwest coast, variable 1 to 4 and slight choppy or choppy. Northwestern swell of 1 to 2 meters in the north. Some showers in the north of the island.

LANZAROTE

Partly cloudy, tending towards mostly clear or sunny skies in the latter half of the day. Temperatures with little change, with some slight decrease on the coasts. Strong northeast wind with intervals of very strong, especially in interior areas, where gusts above 80 km/h are expected, and in the latter half of the day, gusts could exceed 90 km/h.

Expected minimum and maximum temperatures (°C): Arrecife 17 23

Mostly clear or sunny with some cloudy intervals on the western slopes during the early hours. Temperatures with little change, with some slight decrease on coasts. Strong northeast wind with intervals of very strong, especially in interior areas and leeward of the Jandía peninsula, where gusts above 80 km/h are expected, more likely in the latter half of the day.

Expected minimum and maximum temperatures (°C): Puerto del Rosario 17 23





LA GOMERA

Expect mostly clear skies, with some cloudy intervals in the north in the early hours. Temperatures will remain steady or slightly decrease. Strong northeast winds with very strong gusts in areas usually exposed to the trade winds, reaching speeds above 80 km/h. On the southeast slopes and peaks, gusts may exceed 90 km/h during the second half of the day.

Forecasted minimum and maximum temperatures (°C): San Sebastián de La Gomera 16 22

Partly cloudy with ample sunshine in the central hours for the north and east regions. Clear to mostly clear skies elsewhere. Temperatures will remain steady, with a slight decrease in maximums in the peaks and a minor increase in minimums in inland southern areas. Strong northeast winds with very strong intervals in areas exposed to the trade winds, gusting above 80 km/h. Occasionally gusts might reach 90 km/h in the Garafía area, the southeast slope, and El Paso.

EL HIERRO

Expect mostly clear skies, with some cloudy intervals in the north in the early hours. Temperatures will remain steady or slightly decrease. Strong northeast winds with very strong intervals in areas usually exposed to the trade winds, with gusts exceeding 80 km/h.
