The Santa Cruz City Council’s Sports Service will launch the Acidalio Lorenzo swimming pool every Sunday and public holiday, starting tomorrow, April 7th. It will be open from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. as part of the Santa Cruz Entrena programme, aimed at encouraging more residents to engage in physical activity in the city.

Jose Manuel Bermúdez, the Mayor of Santa Cruz, appreciates the Sports department’s efforts to enhance the pool service. “Our aim is to offer top-notch sports facilities to all citizens and deliver exceptional service; this extended opening hours accomplish both objectives.”

Alicia Cebrián, the Sports Councillor, elaborates, “The facility is accessible to all users, not just federated ones, allowing them to pursue sports activities on these days. Apart from being a quality of life enhancer, it also serves as an alternative for recreation and leisure in an open-air environment like the Acidalio Lorenzo pool, which will be available on Sundays and public holidays from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.”

Cebrián highlights, “We at the Sports Service are continuously striving to facilitate residents’ engagement in physical activities in outdoor settings, leveraging the fantastic weather in the city.”

The Sports head states, “Particularly, with the Acidalio Lorenzo pool, we have been diligently working, including involving the community in the decision-making process, to carry out the necessary upgrades in a facility cherished not only by locals but also esteemed by clubs and federations nationally and internationally.”
