Early this morning, at about 5:00 a.m., three masked men carried out an assault on a well-known rustic restaurant in Tenerife. The targeted establishment is El Fogón, situated in close proximity to the airstrip of Los Rodeos Airport, in Los Baldíos (La Laguna).
As stated by the guachinche itself on its social media platforms, the trio attempted to rob the cash register and not only committed theft but also caused extensive damage.
The establishment is equipped with various security cameras that are specifically aimed at the bar and lounge areas. Thanks to this, the perpetrators were captured on video while trying, unsuccessfully, to pry the cash register which was securely fixed to the wall. Based on the footage shared by the restaurant, these criminals forcefully entered through the rear entrance of the establishment using a crowbar. Indeed, the recorded video shows one of them holding a metal bar while attempting to steal from the cash register.
“They must be awful individuals. You put in hard work every day just to be subjected to something like this,” expressed the dismayed owners of the popular Guachinche.
“In the event that anyone can identify any of these three individuals, please do not hesitate to get in touch with us,” urged the guachinche’s Instagram profile, which further mentioned that they plan to assess the extent of the damage and reopen by Thursday; however, they caution that “we cannot guarantee anything.”
