A new initiative called “Hotel Juernes” will make its debut this Thursday in Santa Cruz de Tenerife, offering a series of concerts, tastings, and culinary showcases aimed at introducing city residents to these hospitality venues as vibrant leisure spots.
The official announcement of the initiative was made on Monday at a press briefing by the Mayor of Santa Cruz de Tenerife, José Manuel Bermúdez, and the Vice President of the Ashotel tourism association, Gabriel Wolgeschaffen. They outlined that the program will run on Thursdays from April to June, from 6:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.
Highlighting the initiative, Vice President of Ashotel, Gabriel Wolgeschaffen, expressed that hotels are often undiscovered gems of the city. Through this project, the aim is for residents of the Tenerife capital to see these establishments as vibrant hubs of activity.
The activities offered are complimentary, with the exception of beverages, and for tastings, advance registration will be necessary. The diverse events will take place on terraces, in restaurants, and various other areas within the hotels.
Emphasizing the significance of this project in promoting the city’s tourism sector, Mayor José Manuel Bermúdez emphasized the successful results achieved through public-private collaboration.
Citing statistics, he mentioned that the city has seen its highest hotel occupancy rates in a decade and ranks as the second most visited destination in Tenerife, after Mount Teide. The number of visitors arriving on cruise ships has already matched pre-pandemic levels.
“Beyond just attracting tourists, hotels aim to become local hotspots, providing residents with an enticing leisure and recreational offering,” stated the Mayor of Tenerife capital.
The hotels participating in the initiative include Contemporáneo, Taburiente, AC Marriot, NH Tenerife, Urban Anaga, Silken Atlántida, and Innside Meliá. While initially planned for the low season, there is potential for the initiative to be extended, as highlighted by the Ashotel representative.
