The representation of The Passion is one of the main religious events of Holy Week in Adeje.
A crowd of people – tourists and residents – gather every Good Friday at the historic centre of the southern municipality to enjoy this event that encompasses religion, tradition, and culture.
Many faithful, who cannot travel to Adeje, choose to follow this play on television, but on which channels will it be broadcasted?
The Passion
The representation of The Passion in Adeje is an outdoor theatre play that narrates the death and crucifixion of Jesus Christ. Over 300 people, including amateur actors from the municipality, participate in this play that takes place every Good Friday at noon.
The action unfolds on the Main Street of Adeje and includes scenes such as the entry into Jerusalem, the Last Supper, the prayer in the garden, the trial before the Sanhedrin, the appearance before Pilate and Herod, the Stations of the Cross, the crucifixion and death of Jesus.

The Passion of Adeje. / E. D.
This play has been performed in Adeje since 1995, initially as a small theatre production, a popular initiative that took place inside the parish. It later moved to the street, following urgent restoration works at the Church of Santa Úrsula.
It was then that the Adeje City Council began to collaborate more actively and promoted it to become part of the municipality’s brand and tourist destination.
Broadcasted on TV
The representation of The Passion of Adeje will start at 12:00 and, on this occasion, will be broadcasted on TVC, 13TV, Mírame TV, Canal 4 TV and Canal 10 TV. Additionally, it can also be followed on Facebook Live and the City Council’s YouTube page.
