Tenerife is a sunny beach destination and that cannot be denied. In the midst of Holy Week, while in cities like Seville or Malaga the residents are gazing at the sky to see if the weather will allow them to enjoy the Easter processions, in Canary Islands – although there is also devotion to religious events – many are hoping to enjoy the beach and good weather, despite alerts for rough seas and rain forecasts.
It seemed unlikely, as storm Nelson has been threatening in recent days to deprive the people of Tenerife of a few hours of sun to enjoy the sea and the terraces, but eventually there was a break and beaches like El Médano were packed this Friday from early in the morning.
With the sun shining and the sea, at least in this area, giving a respite, there’s nothing better than taking a dip to celebrate Easter and bid farewell to the month of March.
However, it seems they haven’t had the same luck in the north of the island, where the sea has shown its worst side.
