Tragic motorcycle incident in Teide National Park


A motorcyclist tragically lost his life on Thursday following a tumble on the TF-21 near the San José Mines in Teide National Park, Tenerife. This information was confirmed by the Emergency Coordination Center (Cecoes) 1-1-2 of the Canarian Government.

The incident took place around 3:00 p.m. when Cecoes was alerted about a motorcyclist who had fallen, was unconscious on the road, and in need of medical assistance.

Emergency services were promptly dispatched by 1-1-2, and individuals at the scene, claiming to be healthcare professionals, verified that the victim was in cardiac arrest. They immediately started administering CPR.

An ambulance team and the medical helicopter from the Canary Islands Emergency Service (SUC) arrived and continued with advanced life support procedures. Unfortunately, all efforts to revive the motorcyclist were in vain, and the individual was pronounced dead.

The Civil Guard conducted the necessary procedures, and Teide National Park staff assisted other emergency responders.

The Road Maintenance Service team carried out road cleaning operations following the incident.
