A Larger and More Functional Centre for People with Disabilities in Los Realejos: The renovation of the Interior of the Comprehensive Care Centre for People with Disabilities began at the beginning of this month as requested by the target groups of the services provided by the facility. The work is being carried out without disrupting the use of the rest of the facilities.
The project, which was put out to tender and awarded to the company Linneo Boral SL with a budget of €149,693, aims to adapt the north module of the centre to the emerging needs by distributing the space into different rooms and offices. The mayor, Adolfo González, stated, “The current facilities of the centre have fallen short in response to the demand for space by the disability organizations based in our municipality, so we have endeavoured to prioritise the investment for this project, which significantly expands the surface area and usage possibilities of the infrastructure, tailored to their needs.”
The project acts on two levels, which will be internally connected, providing greater spaciousness to the central courtyard. On the ground floor, accessible from Lanzarote Street, there will be two large multipurpose rooms, as well as the administrative reception, a multi-purpose room, and accessible toilets, including one for people with ostomy. There will also be a room for cleaning and maintenance supplies and another for machinery, with exterior access equipped with a ramp.

The upper floor is divided into a large multi-purpose room with an interior office, two additional rooms, two accessible toilets, and a lobby, suitable for use in different workstations, meeting the requirements outlined by social and disability entities in the municipality.
