SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, 25th March (EUROPA PRESS) –
The Cabildo of Tenerife has given the green light to a subsidy programme for the island’s municipalities to host artisan fairs. The financial aid set aside for this purpose totals 70,000 euros and has been announced in the Official Gazette of the Province of Santa Cruz de Tenerife (BOP) in its latest edition on Monday, 25th March.
The Minister of Employment and Education, Efraín Medina, disclosed that the initial budget for the aforementioned grants was 50,000 euros but has now been boosted by an additional 20,000 euros. “Our goal is to support the work of artisan professionals, and these fairs offer them a platform to showcase their creations to the wider public. Our aim is to enhance the commercialisation, quality, and innovation of artisan products across the island,” added Medina.
The financial assistance will cover expenses related to temporary infrastructure set-up or stand rentals for participating artisans and their displays, as well as essential infrastructure elements for fair assembly. This includes publicity and printed materials such as designing, printing, and distributing advertising posters and other promotional materials for the fair, creating banners, contracting advertising slots, and promoting the event on social media. Furthermore, funds will be allocated towards ensuring security or surveillance of the venue during the fair days and nights, including the day before and after the event as necessary, and also towards fair activation during the event days.
