The Deputy for Equality of the Common Council, Beatriz Barrera, has met with the mother of one of the students from CPEIPS La Salle San Ildefonso, in Santa Cruz de Tenerife, who were affected by the distribution of nudes created by students of the school using artificial intelligence. She denounces that the relevant student protection protocols have not been activated promptly and calls for more educational measures in response to these events.
The mother expresses her frustration with the lack of information provided by the school and states that action protocols have not been implemented with the necessary care and promptness required for an incident like this. “I requested in writing for the appointment of a coordinator for the well-being and protection of the students, but received no response,” she explains.
This parent calls for educational measures focused on awareness and prevention to protect minors and prevent similar incidents from happening. She points out that she had to transfer her daughter to another school because she was being bullied by other students, which she believes was facilitated by the school’s inadequate involvement at La Salle.

The Deputy for Equality of the Common Council stated that she will contact the relevant authority responsible for the management and direction of educational institutions “to understand what measures were taken in response to the events and what follow-up was done afterwards to prevent instances of secondary victimization of the minor.” In her view, there is also a need for a preventive education policy that emphasizes the consequences of misuse of these new technological tools.
