Investigation Underway for the Theft of Approximately 2.5 Tonnes of Avocados in Tenerife

Authorities from the Civil Guard are conducting inquiries involving two males and a female, aged 31, 39, and 43, respectively, regarding the theft and subsequent online distribution of over 2.5 tonnes of avocados from various plantations in Tenerife.

One of the individuals is being probed for a robbery offence involving an agricultural land, while the other two are suspected of aiding in the ongoing distribution of stolen produce within the agricultural sector.

The Civil Guard has assigned the role of buying the stolen avocados at a significantly reduced price compared to the market rate to these latter two individuals, who subsequently went on to advertise the product for sale on various online platforms.

One of the suspects acquired the stolen goods, even going as far as visiting the premises of the alleged theft perpetrators to collect the items before listing them for sale on internet platforms, while another individual orchestrated the thefts at farms and later profited from the sales on websites.

The findings and materials gathered during the investigations have been forwarded to the respective investigative judicial authorities.
