The Tenerife Island Council has suggested to the Canarian Government, through the public company Gestur, the signing of an agreement for the Island Authority to lead the process to unlock the completion of the La Yegua Industrial Park in La Guancha.
Lope Afonso, Vice President of the Cabildo, and the Island’s Industry Councillor, Manuel Fernández, along with the mayor of the municipality, Antonio Hernández, agreed on the “importance” of completing the La Yegua project, “considering the lack of industrial land in Tenerife.”
This industrial park, spanning 80,000 square metres, will have direct access to the island ring road once its real completion takes place, shaping up as “an opportunity space for the North, and particularly for the region of Isla Baja,” highlighted Manuel Fernández.

During a meeting with Gestur representatives, the Industry Councillor proposed the agreement concept for the Cabildo to take on this final step, “as we have the possibility to allocate a budget for this purpose.” Fernández stated that “we would be willing to assume that one-third and become actively involved in the industrial park development process.” The need to update the urbanization project, which is a decade old, was discussed at the working meeting.
