SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, 19th March (EUROPA PRESS) –
The Board of the Canary Islands Parliament approved the timetable for renewing the four bodies affiliated with the Chamber on Tuesday, allowing parliamentary groups until the 8th of April to submit their candidacies for the position of Common Deputy, the Auditing Committee, the Consultative Council, and the Transparency Commissioner.
The final candidates nominated by the Canary Islands Parliament for these four crucial bodies will appear before the respective parliamentary committees — Government, Autonomous Development, Justice, and Relations with the Auditing Committee — on the 22nd and 29th of April for suitability verification.
The voting on the candidacies is scheduled to take place during the Plenary Session of Parliament on the 7th and 8th of May, as per the Chamber’s announcement.
The terms of the four bodies associated with the Canary Islands Parliament have already lapsed.
Rafael Yanes has been serving as the Common Deputy since June 2018; Pedro Pacheco holds the position of Head of the Auditing Committee, also elected in June 2018; Pablo Matos has been leading the Consultative Council since July 2018, and Daniel Cerdán has been serving as the Transparency Commissioner since April 2015.
