In the early hours of Saturday, in Los Cristianos, Arona, a malicious act took place where 4 to 5 motorcycles parked in a row were discovered burnt, resulting in losses of up to €10,000 “including motorcycles, helmets, chains, and GPS”, as shared by a TikTok user (@mundo.isla).
“There is no insurance coverage for theft and fire,” indicating that “it is a complete loss,” cautioned this user on the platform.
@mundoisla This morning we experienced an act of vandalism resulting in significant damage to several of our motorcycles (currently 4 or 5) with over €10,000 lost between the motorcycle, helmets, chains, GPS. Those involved in scooter rentals know that there is no insurance covering theft and fire, leading it to be a total loss. We are genuinely shocked and after numerous thefts, this attack has been added, which has left us puzzled. However, we trust that the authorities will carry out a thorough investigation. — in Los Cristianos, Arona, Tenerife. #motorcycle #viral #tenerife #vandalism #sad ♬ Sad Music – Max-Music
Current information suggests that the likely culprits were “some young individuals who threw gasoline and ignited the fires,” with residents from the building opposite being the ones who alerted and notified the authorities.
The incident took place during the Los Cristianos International Carnival festivities, and due to their close proximity to the event site, these motorcycles were targeted by an act of vandalism “for entertainment”, as mentioned by the video’s creator.
