Deceased individual discovered after fire in a residence in Santa Cruz de Tenerife

Authorities are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of an individual who tragically lost their life on Monday after being rescued from a property in Santa Cruz de Tenerife that was engulfed in flames.

The victim, a 40-year-old man, was observed throwing items onto the street from the residence located on Víctor de Monjuy Street in the Ofra neighbourhood, as reported by sources from the emergency services.

Upon arrival, emergency responders noticed smoke billowing from the premises.

National Police officers made efforts to rescue the individual, resulting in one officer inhaling smoke and requiring medical attention.

Despite efforts to resuscitate the man by medical personnel from the Canario Emergency Service, unfortunately, the outcome was fatal.
