Lanzarote does not give up in the pursuit of the leader of the Canary Islands group in Tercera RFEF, CD Tenerife B. The team from Lanzarote added another victory by winning their visit to Villa Santa Brígida (1-2). They remain two points behind the top spot, which guarantees direct promotion, awaiting the stumble of the Blanquiazul subsidiary in the local derby today (12:00) against Las Palmas Atlético at the Anexo stadium, with both teams also in contention.
At Los Olivos, the red team showed superiority throughout the first half, where they went 0-2 ahead. However, the Santa Brígida team pressed in the second half and managed to reduce the gap, ending up pushing for an equalizer during the final stretch, which the visiting defence prevented.
Lanzarote started strong from the beginning, with good chances for Canillas and Javi. Just past the midway point of the first half, after a pass from Jorge Canillas from the baseline, Traoré finished with an unstoppable shot that hit the crossbar before finding the back of the net to make it 0-1.
Although the goal woke Villa up slightly, Javi hit the crossbar. With a minute left before halftime, Leto started a local attack and placed a backward pass for Aridai, who shot powerfully and forced the goalkeeper to stretch to prevent the equalizer. From a potential draw, they went 0-2 up a minute later, thanks to Jorge Canillas.
After the break, Villa Santa Brígida took a step forward and tried to dominate the game. However, Traoré came close to sealing the win in a one-on-one challenge, which was saved by the goalkeeper Jonay.

With the Gran Canaria team pushing forward, they managed to pull one back to make it 1-2 with a little over ten minutes remaining. Héctor Marrero was the architect of the goal, heading in a cross from Vitolo from the corner. After that, the Santa Brígida team persistently sought the equalizer with numerous balls into the box, but they were unsuccessful against a solid Lanzarote defence, which held on to their lead until the final whistle to secure an important victory.
