A mishap involving a small plane, whose landing gear failed to open, resulted in the closure of the runway at Tenerife North-Ciudad de La Laguna airport for thirty minutes on Sunday, according to Spanish Airports and Air Navigation (Aena) as reported by EFE.
The official x of Air Controllers account stated that incoming flights were put on hold and some redirected to Tenerife South.

No medical transfers were required, and once the plane was cleared, the runway resumed operations.
While the airport was non-operational, a flight originating from Valencia was rerouted to Tenerife South-Reina Sofía airport.
